Classical vs Complex

Homoeopathy is scientific.

It is the only western medical system with a practical model of health and disease.

The Model of Health and Disease

  • all living beings have a life force which is responsible for keeping us in harmony with our environment.
  • this life force runs through, and connects the four major planes of our existence: the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

Spirit

Mental Body

Emotional Body

Physical Body

  • when we have imbalance in the system, we see disease.
  • this imbalance is in the life force itself.

Manifesting imbalance and producing symptoms

  • the life force always attempts to manifest imbalance in a way that is the least danger to life.
    • for example eczema is less of a danger to life than asthma.
  • so there is a hierarchy from least vital, to vital in all three levels
  • in terms of the planes, disease that manifests only on the physical body is the most superficial; disease that manifests only in the mental level, indicates a very deep level of disturbance in the life force.

Our predisposition determines where our disease will manifest

  • we are all born with predispositions or weaknesses that make us susceptible to disease.  Sometimes we say "I have a weak chest". or " I have terrible period pains, just like my mother used to".
  • we can also acquire these weaknesses, for example, if you live in an environment where you are always getting chilled you might develop a weak chest.
  • however the predisposition isn't enough to produce disease on its own - it is just the potential.  We need a trigger to cause an imbalance which will manifest at the most superficial weakness it can.
  • the trigger we call an exciting cause.

Using the model; diagnosis and prognosis

  • we can understand exactly where the disease process is at this point in time and make a diagnosis.
  • we can therefore predict what will happen if the patient continues along the course they are going, or
  • what will happen once they receive a homoeopathic remedy, i.e. make a prognosis.
  • we can use the model to decide which method of treatment is the most appropriate at that time - allopathic or homoeopathic.

The Laws of Cure

  • based on the model of health and disease
  • are a 'map', enabling us to accurately assess a patient's progress.

Testing the model

  • in everyday practice the model is tested in forming a diagnosis and prognosis for the patient.

Medical trails

  • generally, only half of those been done show homoeopathy to be effective the evidence is inconclusive.
  • Importantly most of the trials do not take into account the model above especially when investigating remedy activity.
  • for published trials, see pub-med.

Science is the detailed study of a subject.  It involves the creation of a model, and to use this to make predictions which can be tested by experiment or observation.

The Life Force pervades our whole being and functions like a conductor to an orchestra
